The Apulia (Puglia) Region of Italy

Apulia (Puglia) is a region in southern Italy at the “heel” of the boot. The region is famous for its olive oil, wine (of which it produces more than in any other region of Italy), seafood and its “Trulli”. With its sunny Mediterranean climate, clean sandy beaches, hidden caves and relaxed way of life, Apulia is a delightful area of Italy, yet it still remains relatively undiscovered. The area is covered in large areas of Olive trees, fruit trees, vineyards and still supports a vast agricultural way of life.

The trullo is within easy reach of many towns, as well as many other sites and area’s of interest.

Alberobello 4.5km

Alberobello is the capital of the trulli and is a designated UNESCO world heritage site. The town is spread over two hills, one of which is almost completely covered in small inter twined streets bordered with rows of trulli. As a major tourist attraction many of these now sell local wines, olive oils and souvenirs, others are charming restaurants while the majority are still family homes. There is no shortage of excellent restaurants throughout the town as well as traditional bars for an aperitif before eating. Any visit to Puglia is not complete without a visit to this popular town.

Locorotondo 4km

Locorotondo is built on a hill top an has a beautiful old town buit in a circular pattern. The town is famous for its white wine so a visit to the winery where you can buy their excellent wines at ridiculously low prices is not to be missed.

Fasano 8km

Ostuni, also know as the White City is perched on the hill top with stunning views across the coastal plain to the sea. In the old part of town, while walking around the walls you will find many quaint little alleyways, wonderful architecture and plenty of restaurants and bars.
The newer parts of town are home to many shops and boutiques where you will be able to buy almost everything on your shopping list

Polignano a Mare 25km
